What is an e-ticket?

An e-ticket is an electronic ticket which serves as a substitute for the paper ticket. It contains all the relevant information about the passenger and the flight. You receive the e-ticket with your booking confirmation. Should you not receive your e-ticket in your inbox, also check your spam/junk folder. Some budget airlines do not send e-tickets, but only booking numbers. Then the passengers can check themselves in and print out their boarding pass using this booking number.
